Pumpkin seeds, the name of Chinese medicine. The seeds of Cucurbita moschata Duch., a Cucurbita moschata plant in the Cucurbitaceae family. Pick ripe fruits in autumn, take out the seeds, wash and dry.
The dried and mature seeds are flat oval, slightly pointed at one end, yellowish-white in appearance, slightly edged, about 1.2 to 2 cm long and 0.7 to 1.2 cm wide, with hairy surfaces and more edges. The seed coat is thick, and the hilum is located at the tip end; if the seed coat is removed, a green and thin endosperm can be seen with 2 thick yellow cotyledons inside. The cotyledons contain fatty oil and the radicle is small. Scented, slightly sweet. Dry, full-grained, yellowish-white shell is better.
After the pumpkin matures, remove the seeds to remove the pulp, dry or sun-dried.
